I've not tried using a camp bed (presumably you have one of those low ones with tensioned wire legs?) in a bivvy tent - but I'd say you will be pretty close to the canvas. Perhaps someone else has tried and can give a definitive answer?

Yes one of the low wire legged ones can be used down the centre of a pup tent. Assuming it's not too long of course! They do come in a variety of lengths.

Aw... I'm not buying yet another campbed! If you say my modern one should fit in the Zelt tent, may I use that instead please?

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

No need to buy another camp bed, I'm sure it will be OK - you will just be closer to the roof! (and I said you can't get a campbed into a zelt!).

Given the monsterous size of my camp bed I think I'm going to have to rig up some sort of shelter with my plash (might get another) and hope its a warm weekend. :slap:

Basically either of the two low ones here would fit in a british pup tent. The tall US Army one wouldn't.

Thanks, wouldn't mind borrowing one... as long as you can put it up for me! I'm too feeble.

Word to the wise, the high camp beds that are easy to put up fit in a pup tent...... however you may not. I spent an odd weekend at Levisham two years ago in such a predicament where I couldn't move and my nose was milimeters from the canvas, oh and I could only sleep on my back. Getting onto the bed was interesting, as was getting off it. Not recommeded for anyone bigger than me, though as I found it erm "interesting" and definately not for the "claustrophobic" , oh and I wouldn't do it again

Army cot ones that are low, such as steiner it looks is borrowing from us, fit in them fine.

I've got a tan Brit post war thingy that can be borrowed too.

Technically you can fit two men into a pup tent or US shelter halves sleeping head to toe; although it can be a little 'cosy', just as Chommers and Guy....

I can add another white Bell tent to the growing row. Plus some ammo crates and bits like that to sit on.

Just had a word with John Birchett and us new kids will be up for about 7pm on Saturday, so leave us somewhere to pitch a bell tent and get a BBQ lit. Looking forward to meeting you guys and having a beer or two.

We'll be letting the side down in a modern tent, but at least it's green. We'll pitch up as far away from everyone else as possible anyway, because of the snoring.
